At one point, I was just a wide eyed girl doodling floating cities on the margins of her physics class notes. Now? I'm designing habitats for outer space. But, before we get there, let's rewind.

Act I: The Outsider.
With a freshly minted degree in architecture, and a head full of dreams I got giggled out of my first interview. "space habitats? Sweetheart, stick to skyscrapers." 🖕 Imagine that you are watching a montage where you drink more coffee than normal, pull more all nighters with CAD than ever, and on the side you are selling somewhat illegal 3D prints in order to fund your obsession. (Hey, Elon started with Paypal.)

Act II: The Work.
I frauded my way into a NASA subcontractor job by wearing my "FUTURE IS FEMALE" overalls and saying a bunch of sht like "modular biospheres," until they believed me. Spoiler alert: I learned on the job. Now for the most hysterical "oh sht" moments: almost depressurizing a prototype habitat, getting yelled at by a Russian engineer, and eating ramen for a year. But I knew, this was my moment.

Act III: The Rise.
Fast forward: Now I have actually designs orbiting around earth (literally). I've been dubbed "the Zaha Hadid of zero-gravity," which is nice, but I prefer "space punk." What is my secret? Rules are made to be broken. Why does space have to look like a sterile laboratory? I design habitats for outer space that are fcking wild with neon algae gardens, virtual reality windows to earth, and secret* speakeasies behind air locks. (Yes, astronauts party) 🍸
