Hello! I’m Rosalind Nora Bentley your friendly neighbourhood bioplastics engineer who is optimistic, willing to dream, and has an interesting back-story. 🌧️☀️

I grew up in a small town and there wasn't much "innovative" stuff going on except for a broken swing set at the park. Honestly, I never imagined myself here. My family struggled (and I mean really struggled). I never had fancy toys, vacations or any money so I played with anything I could find including the piles of plastic waste in the streets. 🥺

Then one day, my little brother got sick from drinking contaminated water (plastic leaching into the groundwater). That was the day I absolutely snapped. I decided to dedicate my life to figuring out how to turn this toxic mess into something beautiful. Insert dramatic montage of late-night study sessions, failed experiments, and a lot of tears. 😭💔

And you know what? I did it. I became a bioplastics engineer and designed materials that heal the planet instead of hurt it. Now, I am here to show you that the average "girl next door" (yes you) can change the world—one compostable straw at a time. 🌎✨

PS: Yes, I still cry at puppy videos and eat entirely too much chocolate... Some things will never change. 🍫🐶
